Vision

Our vision for a healthy Guysborough County is a place where there is respect for the preservation and enhancement of the mental, spiritual, physical, social and economic well-being and safety of the people and their communities.

Mission

The Guysborough County Community Health Board will continue to work in partnerships with relevant organizations to maintain and improve the health and wellness of our communities. 

All members of the Guysborough County Community Health Board will advocate, plan and support the implementation of community-based programs and services that will positively and equitably affect all members of Guysborough County to provide safe, secure, and prosperous communities.  

Values

Equitable Access: We believe in equitable access to services and programs that are “close to home” in our communities

Partnerships:  We commit to working in partnerships with all sectors to maintain and improve the health of our communities.

Safe, Viable, Healthy Communities: We advocate for safe, viable, healthy communities through health planning that considers all the determinants of health, builds on community assets, and addresses community needs. 

Respect:  We believe in the need to respect the dignity and worth of all individuals and families within their diverse cultures.

Healthy Choices:  We believe in the right of all individuals to be able to make healthy choices.

Compassion and Openness to Change:  We continue to be caring, compassionate, accepting and open to change in working with our communities.
